Site Superintendent

For our client based in Oostende (BE) we are looking for a Site Superintendent. The Shore Superintendent in the Fleet Department ensures the availability, reliability, and certification of our vessels for operations.

You will be closely working with the HUB manager to maintain, service, repair, and modify vessels smaller than 500GT. Staying updated on (sustainable) techniques, rules and regulations, and offshore requirements is essential for carrying out this mission effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the vessels from a safety, M&R and operational perspective.
  • Review of ship orders for repairs, dry-dockings, refits, spares, and stores in accordance with our purchasing procedures.
  • Technical operations on the vessel including compliance with statutory legislative requirements.
  • Carry out audits and work inspections on board.
  • Maintaining budgetary control within the annual budget.
  • Overseeing vessel operational and technical performance.
  • Liaison, as required, with external agencies such as Flag State, Class, P&I, Etc.
  • Work together with the marine superintendent to ensure vessels are manned with competent and experienced crew.
  • Ensure PMS is maintained and kept up to date in MARAD.
  • Forecast M&R budgets, stock levels and required services in our PMS system.
  • Prepare and control an annual maintenance schedule of the assigned vessels.
  • Evaluate and approve purchase orders and invoices as per authorization matrix.
  • Collaborate with operations and commercial in way of project preparation and execution.
  • Participate and carry out appraisals.

 

Who are you?

  • You live or want to live in Belgium or south of The Netherlands and willing to work irregularly and travel nationally and sometimes internationally.
  • You have excellent command in English, both spoken and written.
  • Have a sound knowledge of Marine QHSE legislation.
  • You have a BSc / MSc degree in Maritime Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Maritime Officer.
  • Thorough knowledge of Class and Flag rules and regulations.
  • At least 5 year’s relevant experience, preferably within a maritime company.
  • Available for travel nationally and internationally if required.
  • Experience with execution of repairs and dockings.
  • At least 5 year’s relevant experience to maintain and complete PMS systems. (Marad)
