Ship Master

Several of our clients in Western Europe are looking for a Ship’s Master. As a Ship’s Master you’re responsible for the management of all shipboard operations.

Furthermore, you’ll take position as the authority to request the company’s assistance, if necessary and to appoint a safety officer on board who is responsible to report deficiencies to you.

Responsibilities

  • The safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the vessel and crew and protection of the interests of the company.
  • Complying with the international/national laws of navigation.
  • To familiarize yourself with all aspects of the vessel including her equipment.
  • Implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management System on board.
  • Monitoring and reviewing the Safety Management System and reporting any deficiencies to the company.
  • To ensure that crew documents and ships certificates are valid.
  • Continuously optimize ship’s energy balance and pay attention to the ecological awareness of the crew.
  • Reporting defects to the company and other matters with implications for safe operations or pollution risk which require the assistance of the company.
  • Maintain vessels administration and ensure that all documentation is kept up to date.
  • Reporting accidents, incidents, non-conformances and near misses to the office.
  • Communication with the company in case of incidents.
  • Pay attention to cost control in all aspects of the operations.
  • Training of deck officers in maneuvering skills.

 

Who are you?

  • You preferably are in possession of a DP certificate.
  • You have the European nationality; the vessel will be sailing for Ocean Infinity in European projects in the coming year.


Furthermore:

  • You master both administration and maneuvering skills.
