Senior Logistics Engineer Offshore Wind

For one of our clients in Rotterdam, we’re looking for a Senior Logistics Engineer Offshore Wind. In this role, you will participate in the tender and project preparation phase. You provide detailed tender input regarding mobilization / demobilization costs, logistics infrastructure, customs regime for import & export of project equipment and ships and marshalling yards.

You will be part of the Purchasing and Supply Chain department. This department consists of about 100 colleagues worldwide. 

Responsibilities

Tender Phase

  • Mapping of logistics infrastructure, customs regime, available shunting sites and customer requirements;
  • Determine the logistics scope for the project’s main equipment and permanent works;
  • Identify process for importing vessels, key applicable restrictions and required customs permits in collaboration with legal and finance department;
  • Provide input on key procurement packages for: Incoterms, Customs, Trade Agreements, Transportation, Handling, Marine Hire requirements, Marshalling port facilities etc;
  • Identify potential agents;
  • Specifying scenarios and corresponding budget quotations for all of the above.


Project Preparation Phase

  • Prepare Customs & Logistics Manual and establish a working method to administer the logistics movements of all equipment;
  • Set up and organize logistics for delivery of materials and equipment required for the main packages of the project;
  • Register scope and appoint shipping agent, customs / logistics agent, marshalling yard;
  • Coordinate the mobilization of project cargo through the Logistics Department;
  • Coordinate the appointment of support ships through Marine Hire desk;
  • Coordinate the application of permits, flag-waver and waivers, if applicable.


Who are you?

  • You have a bachelor degree in the disciplines of logistics or supply chain with at least 2 years of relevant work experience or MBO degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience;
  • You have experience in an equivalent international logistics role, preferably with an international offshore project organization;
  • You have knowledge of shipping conditions and transport documents & contracts;
  • You are familiar with logistics related issues, such as trade and customs compliance, dangerous goods and Incoterms;
  • You are someone who takes ownership of the logistics scope and can hold their own;
  • You are able to come up with creative / innovative solutions;
  • You have a problem solving ability;
  • You are analytical and able to translate a concept into practice and present this in a structured commercial manner.

 

Furthermore:

  • You have a good command of written and spoken Dutch and English;
  • You are a team player with a customer-focused attitude and organizational sensitivity;
  • You are a person who is meticulous and is able to perform well in a dynamic and sometimes hectic environment;
  • You possess excellent communication and social skills;
  • You are willing to travel occasionally.
